Official documents add to sense of stitch-up
by Chris Ames
The Inquiry website’s “evidence” page, which was blank yesterday, now carries four categories of evidence:
* Oral Evidence by Date
* Oral Evidence by Witness
* Written Evidence by Date
* Written Evidence by Witness
Only one of these links to anything at present. The Written evidence by date link takes you to a page containing “evidence” from the Foreign Office and the MoD on UNSCRs 1900-2001 and the no-fly-zones respectively. Both are recent constructs for the Inquiry, dated November 2009. Sadly, in the absence of actual contemporaneous evidence, this adds to the feeling that the only version of events that will be published on the Inquiry website is the official one.
At present, the site also allows you to watch back this morning’s session, but there are as yet no transcripts. In fact, the “written transcripts” link on the front page takes you to the “written evidence by date” page above.
